It’s that moment between waiting, searching, and keeping afloat that I like most. I always said I loved the trip better than reaching the destination. The bus rides during field trips in high school and college, the long plane rides during out of the country vacations, the silence shared in the car during out of town road trips with close friends.
The period after parting where you pick yourself up where you last left off, recollect on new experiences gathered, lessons acquired and realizations valued, and start anew.
It’s those quiet times where people run out of things to say to each other and quiet ensues that I enjoy the most. Always have been and always will be.
And right where I am now, although undetermined and directionless, is where I am happy. There is comfort in silence, the unsaid and the unknown.
Always have and always will be.
